Latest News and Opportunities
- (16/1) A guide to degree apprenticeships has just been published here. It offers a good overview of apprenticeships. The companies profiled in detail represent the professions and sectors where the majority of apprenticeships are offering: finance, tech, engineering and construction. But note the list of companies at the back of the booklet is a snapshot of larger firms, not the total.
- (16/1) Freshfields (London-based international law firm) are holding a virtual Insight evening on Monday 27th January. Find out more about training to be a solicitor and their apprenticeship programme, click here to book.
- (14/01) Williams F1 are offering work experience (Y10-13) at their Grove (Wantage) headquarters. Deadline for application is 24th January. Click here for info.
- (10/01) Lloyds Bank Group are offering a virtual information evening on Tuesday 14th January to provide an insight into Financial technology (FinTech) careers and work experience opportunities. Click here to book.
- (10/01) Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is offering a variety of after school, in person, career talks - for any age - in a huge range of clinical and science professions. This term they are offer ing sessions on careers in psychology and biomedical sciences. More information, dates and booking link can be found here.
- (6/01) Dyson Institute is now accepting applications for its undergraduate engineering degree. Applications stay open until 29th January. Check out their website for information.
- (6/12) Bucks Healthcare Trust will open applications for Y12 and Y13 work experience in a wide variety of clinical and non-clincal departments on 20 December for work experience in February half-term and the Easter holidays. Find out more and to book click here.
- BAe Systems have just launched apprenticeships across the country in a variety roles, lots to choose from here!
- (5/12) Bucks Skills Hub has published the latest edition of Classroom to Careers including information evenings and work experience opportunities., find it here.

December's Careers Insight takes inspiration from Christmas and investigates jobs and careers that make modern Christmas happen.

(26/11) The Global IT company CISCO, are hosting virtual and in person work experience in February half term (17-21 February). There is a fully virtual scheme and a hybrid scheme (2 days in office and 3 days virtual) Click here for more information and to book.

Gap Year
Some useful advice and further information on gap years on the UCAS website.
Local FE (16-18) Colleges
Students have a wide variety of options after Year 11. As well as A-Levels at school sixth forms and local colleges, Level 3 BTEC and T level qualifications are offered locally at the colleges below. Students can also apply for Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships.

University
UCAS is used to apply for university but it is also a database of every course in the UK, so great for researching. It also provides a wide range of useful information on courses, contextual offers etc.
